Our Maintenance Philosophy

At Spektra Motors, we believe preventative maintenance is one of the best ways to improve vehicle reliability and reduce long-term repair costs.

Rather than waiting for components to fail, regular inspections and timely servicing help identify wear before it develops into more expensive problems.

Our recommendations are based on real-world operating conditions, engineering experience and preventative maintenance principles—not simply the maximum intervals published by manufacturers.

Vehicle Maintenance Recommendations

Our maintenance recommendations are designed to maximise vehicle reliability, performance and longevity through a preventative maintenance approach.

The intervals below reflect Spektra Motors' recommendations based on engineering experience and real-world operating conditions. Manufacturer service schedules may differ and, in some cases, specify longer service intervals.

Engine Oil & Filter
Diesel: Every 6,000 miles or 12 months
Petrol: Every 8,000 miles or 12 months
Whichever comes first.

Some manufacturers specify extended oil service intervals of up to 20,000 miles or more. Our recommendation is based on real-world driving conditions, engine longevity and preventive maintenance rather than maximum service intervals. Shorter oil change intervals help reduce engine wear and maintain long-term reliability.

Typically every 40,000–60,000 miles, depending on vehicle and operating conditions.

Some manufacturers describe transmission fluids as "filled for life". In practice, fluid condition deteriorates with age, mileage and operating conditions. Preventive fluid replacement can help maintain smooth operation and long-term reliability.

Tyres
Inspect regularly for wear, damage and correct tyre pressure.

Tyres naturally deteriorate with age, even if they are not heavily used. We recommend an annual professional inspection once tyres reach 5 years of age. For maximum safety, tyres should be replaced after 10 years from their date of manufacture, including unused spare tyres, regardless of remaining tread depth.
